COURSE CURRICULUM

The BEng in Electronic and Computer Engineering at Kent provides a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills across electronics, computing, and emerging technologies. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in mathematics, programming, electronic circuits, and engineering materials while developing hands-on experience through design and manufacturing projects. The second year expands technical expertise with modules in mechatronics, microcomputer technology, embedded systems, digital integrated circuit design, and signal processing, alongside collaborative engineering team projects that enhance problem-solving and teamwork skills. In the final year, students specialise in advanced topics such as robotics, artificial intelligence, digital system design, and communications and networking, while completing an independent research project that consolidates their practical and analytical abilities. Optional modules, including fundamentals of cyber security and image analysis, allow students to tailor their learning to specific interests and industry demands.
