COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc by Research Project (Science) module, worth 120 credits, is the primary research component of the program and is a substantial individual effort. This project allows students to demonstrate their ability to work independently and apply advanced research skills, including critical thinking, data analysis, and effective communication. The research undertaken should contribute to knowledge within the broad field of science and be presented in a Thesis that meets the required academic standards for examination by an External Examiner. The project emphasizes the student’s capacity to analyze a defined problem and work within agreed timescales to produce a high-quality research output according to university academic regulations.In addition to the MSc by Research Project, students are required to select 60 credits from a list of elective modules. These electives provide students with the flexibility to tailor their studies to specific areas of interest within their field, allowing for deeper exploration of particular topics while supporting the overall research goals of the program.
