COURSE CURRICULUM

The course consists of various modules designed to equip students with both theoretical and practical knowledge essential for advanced studies in engineering, product design, and management. The Individual Research Project (60 credits) allows students to conduct independent research, demonstrating critical thinking and applying methodologies from the Research, Planning, and Communication module (15 credits), which focuses on research evaluation, gap identification, and communication of research findings. The Strategy & Management module (15 credits) teaches strategic decision-making, competitiveness, and the role of corporate culture in managing complex business environments. The Computer Aided Manufacturing (15 credits) module explores modern manufacturing technologies like CAD, CAM, CNC, and Industry 4.0 concepts, preparing students for innovative product design and development. The Collaborative Design & Problem Solving module (15 credits) provides hands-on experience in team-based product development, emphasizing lifecycle thinking and leadership. The Product Design Engineering module (30 credits) focuses on integrating technology into product development, ensuring students understand both traditional and tech-driven design aspects. The Digital Engineering module (15 credits) covers emerging technologies such as IoT, AI, and Big Data, essential for understanding Industry 5.0. Lastly, the Engineering Design for Diversity and Inclusivity module (15 credits) examines how to design for diverse and inclusive needs, encouraging students to consider various social, ethical, and cultural factors throughout the design process. Together, these modules aim to develop well-rounded professionals capable of addressing complex engineering challenges in a rapidly changing technological landscape.
