This master's program integrates advanced concepts of engineering, maritime management, and strategic business leadership to prepare students for senior roles in engineering and global shipping industries. Core modules develop both technical and managerial competencies. Accounting and Finance for Engineers and Project Managers provides a foundation in financial and managerial accounting, focusing on budget control, risk assessment, and corporate finance within engineering. Strategy & Management explores strategic planning, competitiveness, value chains, and the role of stakeholders, corporate culture, and governance. Maritime Economics and Global Business Management introduces students to global shipping markets, ship chartering, admiralty law, and strategic operations, enhancing critical thinking in maritime business. Marine Engineering Law and Insurance familiarises students with legal principles and insurance practices essential for professional maritime operations, including handling claims and litigation. Commercial Management of Ships offers insight into the sale, chartering, and commercial operations of vessels across various market segments. The module on Technical Elements of Ships, Maritime Policies, Conventions & Regulations and Maritime Security builds expertise in vessel specifications, international maritime law, and strategies to mitigate piracy and terrorism threats. Advanced Principles in Supply Chain Management equips students with decision-making tools for logistics and supply chain integration, including IT applications. Research, Planning and Communication enhances students’ ability to critically evaluate research, identify gaps, and communicate findings effectively, while the Academic English for Postgraduates (Engineering) module supports international students in mastering academic language, writing, and referencing in the UK higher education context. The program culminates with an Individual Research Project worth 60 credits, allowing students to apply their learning through independent investigation of complex issues relevant to their field.
