COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Enterprise Software Engineering is designed to prepare students for advanced roles in software development, system architecture, and emerging computing technologies through a comprehensive and practice-oriented curriculum. At the core of the program is the 60-credit MSc Project, where students conduct an independent research or development task aligned with current industry or academic needs. This major project cultivates skills in project management, independent problem solving, research methodology, and professional communication. Compulsory modules provide a strong foundation in software engineering and distributed systems, starting with Enterprise Software Engineering Development, which explores modern, component-based development methodologies using object-oriented programming and UML. Complementing this is the Advanced Programming module, which focuses on developing data-driven, interactive software solutions. The Clouds, Grids and Virtualisation module explores scalable computing infrastructures that support enterprise systems, while Software Quality Management ensures students understand lifecycle governance and best practices in ensuring reliable and efficient software systems. Supporting academic success, the program also includes a module on Essential Professional and Academic Skills. Students can tailor their learning with optional modules such as Mobile Application Development, Cyber Security, and Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence, which allow exploration of fields with significant industry demand.
