COURSE CURRICULUM

The course in Accounting and Finance provides students with a robust foundation in management accounting, financial reporting, and research methodologies. It offers both core modules and elective options, equipping students with the knowledge and practical skills required in the accounting and finance fields.In the first part of the program, students will explore core modules like Accounting for Performance and Control, which focuses on management accounting techniques for planning, decision-making, and performance evaluation. International Financial Accounting and Reporting introduces students to financial accounting concepts and reporting standards such as IFRS. The Academic English for Postgraduates (Business) module supports international students in developing academic language skills essential for postgraduate study, while the Research Methods module prepares students for their dissertation with practical research techniques.The Foundations of Scholarship module enhances students' ability to write at an advanced level and apply statistical analysis. The Dissertation module allows students to conduct an independent research project in accounting or finance, applying theoretical and empirical knowledge.Principles of Finance is another key module, offering a solid grounding in financial management, corporate governance, and investment decisions. Students also gain exposure to investment appraisal, risk management, and financial strategies.In addition to the compulsory modules, students select elective options, such as Financial Analysis and Valuation, which teaches fundamental company analysis and valuation techniques. The International Assurance module covers the auditing process, regulatory frameworks, and the auditor's role. The Sustainable Finance and Investment module explores finance's role in addressing climate change and environmental sustainability, with practical tools for sustainable investing.This program provides the skills and knowledge needed for students to pursue careers in accounting, finance, and investment sectors.
