COURSE CURRICULUM

This mental health and wellbeing program offers a multidisciplinary exploration of psychological, social, and public health dimensions of mental health across the lifespan. Students begin with foundational modules such as Introduction to Mental Health and Wellbeing and Introduction to Public Health, which provide core knowledge of mental health concepts and public health principles. Academic and Personal Development supports students in building the study and reflective skills necessary for higher education and professional growth. The curriculum incorporates global and cultural dimensions through Global Perspectives in Mental Health and Wellbeing, encouraging an understanding of mental health issues in diverse contexts. Research Methods and Evidence-based Practice introduces students to the tools and methodologies required for critical analysis and informed decision-making in health-related fields. Psychological Aspects of Mental Health explores individual mental processes and behaviors, while modules like Vulnerable Populations focus on the unique needs of children, adolescents, and young adults. Applied Ethics for Health encourages students to think critically about moral dilemmas in care provision. Advanced modules such as Contemporary Issues in Mental Health and Wellbeing and Living Environments, Inequalities and Health delve into current challenges and the impact of social determinants on mental health outcomes. Theory, Evidence, and Practice in Public Health and Wellbeing and program Planning and Evaluation prepare students to design, implement, and assess health interventions. Leadership and Project Management develops skills needed for leading initiatives and working in interdisciplinary teams. The Dissertation allows students to conduct an in-depth investigation into a relevant topic of their choice, while Employment-Based Learning offers practical experience in a professional setting.
