COURSE CURRICULUM

This adult nursing degree is designed to develop students into competent, reflective practitioners who can deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based care. In the first year, foundational knowledge is built through modules in Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology, and Individual Health & Well-Being. Students also begin developing clinical skills and theoretical understanding with Foundations of Nursing Practice and Academic Skills Development. Practice Learning 1 introduces real-world nursing environments in line with NMC requirements.In the second year, students advance their understanding of health conditions with modules like Pathophysiology and Medicines Management. The focus shifts toward recognising and managing complex individual needs and refining skills in evidence-based, person-centred care through Developing Adult Nursing Practice. Practice Learning 2 offers continued clinical exposure, while the Understanding Research module introduces students to research methods and critical thinking necessary for informed practice.The final year prepares students for professional registration and independent practice. Modules such as Preparation for Professional Practice and Advancing Adult Nursing Practice focus on leadership, multidisciplinary teamwork, and complex care delivery across various settings, including end-of-life care. Consolidating Adult Nursing Practice helps students strengthen their clinical judgement, risk management, and service improvement strategies. Practice Learning 3 ensures continued alignment with NMC standards, and the Exploring Evidence for Professional Practice module deepens students' ability to use and apply research in clinical decision-making.Across all years, academic and practical components are integrated to develop skilled, compassionate nurses capable of meeting the evolving demands of adult healthcare.
