COURSE CURRICULUM

The International Business degree offers a comprehensive and interdisciplinary education across three years, designed to prepare students for careers in global business environments. In Year 1, students are introduced to essential academic and professional skills through modules such as Personal and Professional Development, International Business Functions, and International Business Environment, which explore the dynamics of global operations, organisational functions, and external influences. They also develop analytical capabilities through modules like Fundamentals of International Business Analytics and Introduction to Finance for Business, while gaining insights into global marketing with Principles of Marketing in a Global Context. The Economics in Action module provides an understanding of economic theory and practical economic issues, laying a strong foundation for advanced business analysis. In Year 2, the curriculum builds on this foundation with a deeper exploration of Cross-Cultural Management, Business Ethics, and Managing Global Business Networks, emphasising diversity, ethics, and organisational strategy in international settings. Students gain real-world insight through modules like Operating in Emerging Markets and Consultancy in Practice, which offer practical exposure to global business environments and consultancy work. Business Statistics and Intermediate Economics modules strengthen students' quantitative and economic analytical skills, while Future Paths helps them prepare for placement and employment opportunities. Year 3 culminates in a Final Year Consultancy Project, where students independently apply their learning to solve real-world business problems. Leadership in Organisations, International Management and Organisational Functions, and Internationalisation, Technology & Governments deepen students' understanding of leadership, global strategy, and technology's role in business. Strategic Management and Innovation, and Big Data and Business Analytics round out the program, equipping students with tools to lead innovation and use data effectively in decision-making. Across all years, students have the option to enhance their international focus by studying a foreign language, reinforcing the global perspective at the core of this degree.
