The Events Management degree provides students with a comprehensive, practice-based and forward-thinking education, preparing them to lead in an evolving global events industry. In Year 1, students are introduced to key concepts through modules like Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Events, Understanding the Events Industry, and Principles of Sustainable Event Management. These establish an early awareness of creativity, sustainability, and commercial viability in the event context. Modules such as Academic and Professional Development Skills and Accessible Experiences provide foundational academic skills and a socially conscious perspective, while others like Finance, Operations and Project Management and Introduction to Marketing Principles offer operational and business-related competencies. In Year 2, students engage more deeply with innovation and application. Modules such as Innovative Technology in the Experience Economy and Virtual and Hybrid Event Production prepare students for the digital future of events, while Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Practice focuses on developing and launching feasible ventures. Strategic Event Resourcing and Employability Skills for the Events Professional strengthen leadership and organisational abilities. A choice between focused areas like Business Events or Festivals enables students to align their studies with specific interests. In the final year, students experience real-world learning through Client Event Design and Delivery and Strategic Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Practice. These are complemented by leadership-focused modules like Leadership and Career Development, alongside optional in-depth research or consultancy projects. Students also choose from specialised modules such as Event Policy, Crowd Management, and Event Industry Futures, allowing them to gain advanced expertise in niche areas. The program integrates theory with live experience, develops a global outlook, embraces technological change, and encourages innovation. By the end, students are equipped with entrepreneurial, strategic, and critical thinking skills needed to succeed across all event sectors, from corporate and cultural events to emerging digital formats and socially driven experiences.
