COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Intelligent Systems and Robotics is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills across intelligent systems, robotics, and related technologies. At the core of the program is the MSc Project and Dissertation, accounting for 60 credits, which allows students to engage in substantial independent research, developing advanced analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills. Compulsory modules provide comprehensive coverage of essential areas, including Intelligent Systems and Robotics, Machine Learning, Programming Embedded Systems, Computer Vision, Professional Practice and Research Methodology, and a Group Project, each contributing 15 credits. These modules equip students with expertise in developing intelligent and robotic systems, programming embedded hardware, applying machine learning techniques, analysing visual data, and working collaboratively in practical, research-led projects. The course also integrates professional practice and research methodology, ensuring students are prepared for real-world applications and further research. To allow for individual specialisation, students can choose optional modules totaling 30 credits, enabling exploration of specific areas of interest within intelligent systems or robotics. Overall, the program balances rigorous academic study with hands-on experience, preparing graduates to contribute effectively to research, development, and deployment of intelligent systems across industries such as robotics, autonomous systems, computer vision, and artificial intelligence.
