COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Economics and Business is structured to provide students with a strong foundation in economic theory and its application to business and management, while also allowing flexibility to pursue individual interests. Core modules include Decisions, Markets and Information, Quantitative Economics, and Industrial Organisation, each worth 20 credits, which build essential knowledge in decision-making processes, market behaviour, and quantitative methods for economic analysis. The Economics of Incentives further develops understanding of how incentives shape choices within organisations and markets. Alongside these, the program includes a Capstone Project Preparation module, which guides students in planning their research, followed by the 40-credit Capstone Project itself, where students apply their acquired knowledge to a specific business or management issue tailored to their career goals. In addition to compulsory modules, students can choose up to 60 credits from a range of optional modules, enabling them to customise their learning pathway in line with professional aspirations or areas of interest, such as finance, policy, or entrepreneurship. This balance of compulsory training and flexible options ensures students graduate with advanced analytical and practical skills, well-prepared for careers in business, management, consultancy, or further academic research in applied economics.
