COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Computer Engineering is structured to provide a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and research experience in both hardware and software aspects of computing systems. Central to the program is the 60-credit MSc Project and Dissertation, where students undertake independent research, applying the technical knowledge and analytical skills they have developed to a specialised topic. Core modules include Programming Embedded Systems and High Level Logic Design, each worth 15 credits, which equip students with essential skills in software development, hardware design, and system integration. The Professional Practice and Research Methodology module provides guidance on research techniques, project management, and professional development, ensuring students can effectively plan and execute complex projects. In addition, a 15-credit Group Project allows students to collaborate on practical engineering problems, developing teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills that are critical in industry. Flexibility is offered through 60 credits of optional modules, enabling students to tailor the program to their interests and career goals, whether in embedded systems, robotics, networking, or other specialised areas of computer engineering.
