COURSE CURRICULUM

The MRes Management and Organisation program provides an advanced and research-intensive exploration of management, organisational behaviour, and human resource management. It is designed for students aiming to pursue academic or professional research careers, or to progress to doctoral-level study. Central to the program is the dissertation in management, which accounts for a significant portion of the credits and allows students to undertake an in-depth, independent research project. Alongside the dissertation, students study core modules covering research methods in management, research evaluation, and philosophies of research with a focus on advanced qualitative techniques, equipping them with the skills to critically design, execute, and assess research projects. The course also includes compulsory modules in management and strategy, and organisational behaviour and human resource management, providing theoretical and practical insights into contemporary organisational dynamics. Students have the opportunity to select optional modules tailored to their specific interests, allowing for further specialisation. Through this combination of rigorous research training, critical evaluation, and theoretical grounding, the program develops the ability to conduct independent research, analyse complex organisational issues, and contribute meaningfully to knowledge creation in management. Graduates emerge well-prepared for careers in academia, consultancy, policy development, or any role requiring advanced analytical and research expertise in organisational contexts.
