COURSE CURRICULUM

The Essex MBA is structured to provide a comprehensive and practical understanding of business management, sustainability, and leadership, combining core modules, electives, and a substantial project to equip students for senior roles in diverse organisational contexts. The program includes a 40-credit MBA Project, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to a real-world business challenge, demonstrating analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills. Core modules cover essential areas such as Sustainable Operations, Supply Chain Management, Data and Analytics, Strategy, People and Sustainable Organisations, Accounting and Finance, Markets, Governance and Sustainability, Strategic Marketing, and The Management of Innovation and Organisational Change. These modules provide a holistic view of business functions while emphasising ethical, sustainable, and evidence-based decision-making. Leadership development is integral to the program, with modules such as Leading with Impact and The Director’s Workshops designed to enhance students’ capacity to inspire, manage change, and drive organisational success. Students also have the opportunity to tailor their learning through a 10-credit optional MBA module, enabling them to pursue specific interests or industry-focused expertise. The combination of theoretical insights, practical case studies, and experiential learning ensures graduates emerge with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to lead strategically, manage complex challenges, innovate, and promote sustainable practices in a global business environment.
