COURSE CURRICULUM

This program offers an in-depth exploration of psychoanalysis, combining theoretical, practical, and research-oriented components to develop a comprehensive understanding of the field. At its core, students engage with research methods and a dissertation, providing 60 credits of rigorous training in academic inquiry, critical analysis, and original research. Foundational courses such as Reading Freud and Psychoanalytic Theory equip students with a thorough grasp of classical and contemporary psychoanalytic thought, offering 15 and 30 credits respectively. Complementing these are compulsory modules that emphasize critical engagement and practical application, including Clinical and Critical: Contemporary Dialogues in Psychoanalytic Theory, The Psychic Life of Gender, Psychoanalytic Epistemology, Psychoanalysis: Controversies and Contexts, and Psychoanalysis and the Psychosocial, each contributing 15 credits. These modules examine the intersections of psychoanalysis with gender, society, and psychosocial processes, encouraging students to analyze both historical debates and contemporary challenges in the field.
