COURSE CURRICULUM

The Social Work program provides a structured pathway to develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for professional practice. Practice Placement 1, a 30-credit module, offers hands-on experience in real-world social work settings, allowing students to apply their learning and develop professional competencies. Additionally, Using Research and Evidence in Social Work Practice equips students with the skills to critically evaluate and incorporate research into their practice, ensuring evidence-based decision-making. In the final year, the curriculum focuses on advanced and specialized areas, with modules such as Critical Issues in Contemporary Social Work and Global Social Work, each contributing 15 credits, encouraging students to explore complex social challenges, international perspectives, and contemporary debates in the field. Practice Skills and Placement 2, a 30-credit module, provides further experiential learning, reinforcing applied skills and professional development. The final year also includes a 30-credit module with options, allowing students to tailor their learning according to their interests or career aspirations.
