COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLM International Law program is designed to provide students with a broad and in-depth understanding of the principles and applications of international law. Core modules include Public International Law, Academic Skills in International Law, and a range of options allowing students to tailor their studies to their specific interests, including areas such as human rights, commercial law, trade law, and maritime law. Students also have the opportunity to select additional optional modules, providing flexibility to explore specialised topics or interdisciplinary approaches that complement their chosen focus. Central to the program is the dissertation, which accounts for a significant portion of the credit load, giving students the opportunity to undertake substantial independent research and develop expertise in a specific area of international law. Through the combination of compulsory modules, optional studies, and the dissertation, students gain a comprehensive understanding of the theoretical frameworks, institutional structures, and practical applications of international law. The program develops critical analytical skills, research capabilities, and the ability to construct coherent and persuasive legal arguments. Graduates of the program are well-equipped for careers in international law, government, non-governmental organisations, international institutions, and private practice, as well as for further academic research, providing a strong foundation for operating effectively in an increasingly globalised legal environment.
