COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLB Business with Law program at Essex is a three-year course designed to integrate legal knowledge with essential business skills, preparing students for careers where law and commerce intersect. In the first year, students establish a strong foundation in both disciplines through core modules in contract law, public law, criminal law, management, and marketing, alongside key skills and career development modules. This combination introduces students to fundamental legal principles while developing their understanding of business practice. In the second year, the curriculum advances to legal research skills, land law, tort law, and justice, while students continue developing business knowledge through modules in business strategy and organisational behaviour. Career development learning continues to support professional readiness. In the third year, students specialise further with options in advanced legal topics, the law of the European Union, and equity and trusts, while also having the opportunity to choose from additional law or business-related modules to tailor their learning to career goals. Across all three years, the program emphasizes analytical thinking, problem-solving, and practical application of knowledge in both business and legal contexts. Graduates gain a versatile skill set, combining a thorough understanding of law with business acumen, preparing them for roles in corporate, consultancy, legal, and managerial environments where interdisciplinary expertise is highly valued.
