COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Sports and Exercise Science degree is structured to provide a comprehensive foundation in the scientific principles underpinning sport, exercise, and human performance. In the first year, students focus on building essential knowledge and skills through modules such as Professional Skills and Development, Fundamentals of Human Movement, Sport and Exercise Psychology, Principles of Nutrition and Metabolism, Anatomy and Physiology for Sport, and an introduction to exercise physiology and sports science. This grounding equips students with both theoretical understanding and practical insights into the key disciplines of the field. In the second year, the program develops research competence through modules like Research Methods in Sport and Exercise and Professional Skills 2, while also offering a wide range of optional modules to tailor the degree to specific interests, from applied physiology and biomechanics to psychology and health promotion. The third year emphasizes independent research and advanced study, with students undertaking a substantial Research Project that consolidates their knowledge and analytical abilities. Alongside this, students select optional modules that allow them to deepen their expertise in chosen areas of sports and exercise science. This flexible and applied structure ensures graduates are well-prepared for careers in sports performance, health, fitness, and research.
