COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Finance and Mathematics course provides a comprehensive blend of mathematical theory and financial practice, preparing students for careers in financial markets, corporate finance, and analytical roles. In the first year, students build a solid foundation with modules in Introduction to Finance, Introduction to Economics, Calculus, Statistics I, Matrices and Complex Numbers, and Mathematical and Computational Modelling, supported by a careers and employability component to develop professional skills. The second year deepens both mathematical and financial expertise through modules such as Quantitative Foundations of Finance, Corporate Finance, Portfolio Analysis, Intermediate Microeconomics, Statistics II, Ordinary Differential Equations, and Survival Analysis, further strengthening analytical and problem-solving abilities. Continued focus on employability ensures students are prepared for real-world applications. In the final year, students advance to specialised study, with compulsory modules including Mathematics of Portfolios and Economic Analysis of Asset Prices, alongside options in advanced mathematics, economics, or business modules that allow tailoring of the degree to career goals.
