COURSE CURRICULUM

This interdisciplinary degree offers students the chance to study across a wide range of subjects while developing strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills. In the first year, compulsory modules such as Interdisciplinary Research and Problem-Solving: An Introduction and Ways of Knowing provide the foundations for thinking critically across disciplines, while students select optional modules from different subject areas, enabling them to explore diverse perspectives. Skills for the Next Step further supports personal and academic development. The second year deepens this interdisciplinary approach with The World in Question, a module that examines the cultural, social, political and environmental legacies of the Enlightenment. Students continue to specialise by choosing options within disciplines they began in the first year, while also exploring further outside choices, ensuring a broad and flexible academic path. Compulsory options such as CS200 or CS207 alongside further optional modules allow for tailored study in areas of personal interest. In the final year, the program culminates in a major independent project or dissertation, chosen from a range of pathways, which encourages students to apply their learning to a sustained piece of interdisciplinary research. Additional optional modules support advanced specialisation, preparing students for diverse academic or professional futures.
