COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA Physical Theatre course at East 15 Acting School is structured across three years, combining intensive training with creative exploration to build skilled, versatile performers. In the first year, students begin with a series of core modules that establish the foundations of physical and devised performance, acting techniques, and ensemble work. They are introduced to a wide range of creative practices that nurture both physical discipline and artistic imagination. The second year deepens this training with larger credit-bearing modules such as EA290-5-FY and EA298-5-FY, which focus on advanced performance skills, collaborative creation, and physical theatre methodologies. Additional modules provide opportunities to explore specialised practices and strengthen voice, movement, and devising abilities, while Contextual Studies continues to ground their learning in the theoretical and cultural aspects of theatre. The final year consolidates all aspects of training, with modules such as EA397-6-SP and EA396-6-AU giving students opportunities to create and perform substantial projects, while EA394-6-SU and EA395-6-AP focus on professional preparation, applied practice, and original work. This progression culminates in a portfolio of performance experiences that highlight both individual creativity and collaborative skill. Graduates leave prepared to enter the contemporary theatre industry as innovative, physically driven performers and makers.
