COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA Acting and Fight Performance course is structured across three years to build professional skills in stage combat, physical performance, and acting. In the first year, students establish core foundations through Stage Combat I, Physical Skills I, and Performance Skills I, gaining both technical and expressive abilities. They also begin developing Specialised Performance Skills and explore Contextual Studies to understand the wider artistic and historical influences of performance. The second year advances training with Stage Combat II and Physical Skills II, pushing students to higher levels of physical discipline and precision. Performance Skills II and dedicated Performance Projects give opportunities to apply their training in practical settings, while Contextual Studies II further deepens their understanding of the role of theatre and performance in cultural contexts. In the final year, students focus on professional readiness through Stage Combat in Practice and Performance and a substantial Graduation Project, showcasing their abilities in front of industry audiences. Additional modules such as Performance Projects and Theatrical Appreciation allow students to integrate combat, acting, and movement skills into collaborative and creative work. This progression ensures that graduates leave as versatile performers equipped for careers in acting, stage combat, action performance, and related fields.
