COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Internet of Things (IoT) at UEL provides a comprehensive and practical learning experience, combining technical expertise with applied professional skills to prepare students for advanced roles in IoT development and technology management. The program is structured around four core modules: Internet of Things, Machine Learning on Big Data, Cloud Computing, and the Professional Life Dissertation project, which together give students a solid foundation in designing and implementing connected devices and systems. The Internet of Things module focuses on architectures, hardware and software integration, and device connectivity, while Machine Learning on Big Data equips students to analyse and derive insights from the vast amounts of data generated by IoT networks. Cloud Computing covers essential concepts such as virtualisation, data centre management, and scalable infrastructure for IoT deployment. The Professional Life Dissertation allows students to apply their learning to real-world projects, developing both technical proficiency and professional skills in project management, problem-solving, and applied research. An optional Computer Security module provides additional expertise in protecting IoT systems and networks, ensuring students understand the critical cybersecurity aspects of connected devices. By combining theory, practical application, and professional development, this MSc equips graduates to innovate, manage, and secure IoT solutions, preparing them for senior technical or leadership roles in the rapidly growing IoT and technology sectors.
