COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Civil Engineering program is designed to develop skilled civil engineers with a strong balance of technical expertise and management capability, preparing graduates for the diverse demands of the profession. Students gain a clear understanding of the role of civil engineers within the industry while developing essential skills in managing contracts, finances, projects, and multidisciplinary teams. The curriculum provides advanced technical knowledge in key areas such as geotechnical design, focusing on soil–structure interaction for applications including foundations, retaining walls, and earth-supported structures. Students also study modern structural design methods using materials such as steel and concrete in accordance with current engineering standards and professional practice. Core learning is supported by the Mental Wealth: Professional Life module, which strengthens engineering management, professional responsibility, and workplace readiness. A wide range of optional modules allows students to tailor their studies to specific interests, including soil structure engineering, design in steel and concrete, advanced structural analysis, structural dynamics and stability, highway and railway engineering, and intelligent transport systems. The program also emphasizes applied learning through modules in applied research and engineering practice, ensuring strong analytical and investigative skills. An industrial sandwich placement further enhances professional development by providing valuable real-world experience, industry exposure, and practical insight, enabling students to graduate with both academic knowledge and hands-on engineering competence.
