COURSE CURRICULUM

The Occupational and Organisational Psychology MSc in Year 1 is designed to equip students with a strong balance of theoretical understanding and practical skills to enhance effectiveness within workplace and organisational settings. Accredited by the British Psychological Society, the program prepares graduates for professional careers in areas such as human resources, organisational development, consultancy, and applied psychology roles. Core modules include Health and Wellbeing at Work (Mental Wealth), which explores psychological approaches to promoting employee wellbeing and positive workplace cultures, and Developing as a Researcher Parts 1 and 2, which build robust research skills in study design, data collection, analysis, and critical evaluation. The Assessing and Developing People in the Workplace module focuses on psychometric assessment, talent development, and performance management, while Work Design, Organisational Change and Development examines how organisational structures, roles, and systems can be designed and improved to support effectiveness and adaptability. The Leading, Engaging and Motivating People at Work module develops understanding of leadership theories, motivation, and employee engagement strategies. Together, these modules integrate research, theory, and applied practice, enabling students to analyse real workplace challenges and implement evidence-based solutions. The program develops confident, ethical, and reflective practitioners capable of improving individual and organisational outcomes across diverse professional contexts.
