COURSE CURRICULUM

The Human Resource Management master’s program offers a well-rounded curriculum designed to prepare students for strategic and practical roles in HR across a variety of organisational settings. The core modules provide a balance of theoretical insight, practical skill development, and applied learning that align with the professional standards required for modern HR practice.In Term A, the module on Employee Relations, Practices and Law introduces students to contemporary research and best practices in employment, learning and development, performance, and reward management. It explores critical debates in how people are recruited, managed, developed, and rewarded, helping students become effective both as HR professionals and as organisational leaders. Alongside this, the Global HRM, Leadership and Teams module enables students to critically assess the importance of skill development and leadership within the global HRM context, with a particular focus on team dynamics and cross-cultural business environments.In Term B, students deepen their understanding of comparative employment relations and legal frameworks through the Knowledge Management, Metrics and Quantitative Data module. This focuses on the employment relationship and data-driven decision-making in HR. Simultaneously, the Organisational Development and Research module provides both theoretical and practical insights into change management and OD consultancy. Students examine various models of change, including planned, emergent, and continuous approaches, and are guided through the process of developing a research proposal on an applied HR topic.In Term C, the Mental Wealth and the HR Professional module challenges students to investigate complex, real-world business issues through a research-led approach, integrating academic knowledge with practical problem-solving to generate actionable recommendations. The program culminates in the Applied Business Project, where students undertake a live project such as a consultancy report, internship-based study, or business simulation, allowing them to apply their learning directly in a professional context. Altogether, the course equips graduates with advanced HR competencies, strategic insight, and practical experience needed to thrive in contemporary HR roles.
