COURSE CURRICULUM

The Clinical Exercise Physiology program is structured around essential core modules that develop the knowledge, technical competence, and practical experience necessary for a career in clinical exercise physiology. The Technical Skills for Clinical Exercise Physiology module focuses on building foundational skills through a combination of theory and hands-on workshops. Students learn critical screening techniques, risk stratification, and how to assess health and functional capacity in patients. The Exercise Prescription in Clinical Populations module teaches students to design and deliver tailored, evidence-based exercise programs for individuals with non-communicable diseases. This includes training in the selection, administration, and interpretation of exercise tests to support data-driven decisions in patient care. The Advanced Clinical Exercise Physiology module deepens understanding of how non-communicable diseases respond to both acute and long-term exercise interventions, while also exploring the role of advanced assessment tools and the latest research in the field. In the Pathophysiology and Behaviour Change module, students learn to integrate behavioural, psychosocial, and biomedical sciences to promote effective behaviour change and improved patient outcomes. This interdisciplinary approach highlights the multifaceted role of a clinical exercise physiologist in health care. Finally, the Clinical Placement module provides practical, real-world experience in a variety of clinical settings.
