COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Applied Positive Psychology at UEL offers a comprehensive exploration of the science of wellbeing and human flourishing, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application. The program begins with the Introduction to Applied Positive Psychology core module, which provides a thorough grounding in the principles, theories, and evidence base of positive psychology, focusing on happiness, strengths, resilience, and optimal functioning. The Capstone, Major Project, or Dissertation core module concludes the course, enabling students to undertake an independent research project that applies positive psychology concepts to a chosen area of practice or inquiry. Students can tailor their learning by selecting optional modules aligned with their professional interests, including Applied Psychology for Coaches and Positive Psychology Coaching for those focused on coaching practice, Positive Psychology at Work for organisational and workplace applications, Positive Consultancy and Training for learning and development contexts, and Positive Relationships, which explores wellbeing in interpersonal and relational settings. The program offers flexible pathways, allowing students to specialise in areas such as coaching, organisational development, consultancy, or relationship development, or to follow the base MAPP route by choosing a personalised combination of modules. Throughout the course, students engage in experiential learning and real-world practice, developing practical skills and critical insight. Graduates are well prepared for careers in coaching, organisational development, training, and wellbeing consultancy.
