COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology is structured to provide a strong theoretical and practical foundation in the science of wellbeing alongside comprehensive professional coaching training. From a positive psychology perspective, the course is grounded in cutting-edge theory and research related to wellbeing, human flourishing, strengths, resilience, and optimal functioning. The Introduction to Applied Positive Psychology core module establishes a solid understanding of key concepts, evidence-based models, and ethical practice. The coaching component is developed through core modules such as Applied Psychology for Coaches and Positive Psychology Coaching, which provide both foundational and advanced training in working effectively with individuals and groups in professional coaching contexts. These modules emphasise reflective practice, ethical awareness, and the application of psychological theory to real-life coaching situations. The Capstone, Major Project, or Dissertation core module enables students to undertake an independent, in-depth research or applied project that integrates positive psychology and coaching psychology. Optional modules allow further specialisation, including Positive Psychology at Work, which focuses on wellbeing and performance in organisational settings, Positive Consultancy and Training, which develops skills for delivering wellbeing interventions and learning programs, and Positive Relationships, which explores interpersonal wellbeing and relational dynamics. Together, these modules prepare graduates to apply evidence-based coaching and wellbeing practices across diverse professional contexts.
