COURSE CURRICULUM

The program offers a range of core modules aimed at developing advanced research and professional practice in fashion. The Identify Concepts and Technologies module enables students to explore a conceptual and technical field of advanced research within fashion, focusing on the cut and construction of clothing and textiles. By critically reflecting on their work, students can develop new 3D practices that support sustainable and ethical design. In the Define: Concepts and Technologies module, students are encouraged to critically reflect on their initial research projects, define their practice both conceptually and technically, and produce a body of original work that demonstrates professional progress and independence.The Define: Live Industry Project module offers students the chance to engage professionally with the industry through live projects, where they can design, curate, and present exhibitions or installations of their collections. This is further complemented by the Professional Life: Advanced Fashion Portfolio module, which provides an opportunity for students to take on various professional roles in their field. Whether it’s designing a live project, running a digital campaign, or submitting to a competition, this module encourages students to gain experience in different professional contexts.The Consolidate: Concept and Technologies module aims to help students develop a sophisticated body of work for exhibition, demonstrating their capability to produce work that meets Master's-level standards. The Fashion Consultancy Project/Internship module provides a real-world work placement, offering students an opportunity to develop practical skills, build professional networks, and enhance employability through experiential learning.In addition to these modules, MFA students are also encouraged to explore their own creative practice in the Creative Practice module, which allows them to complete a professional-standard, full-length creative output. Lastly, the MFA Professional Platform module prepares students for the professional world by guiding them through industry projects or placements, helping them create a solid platform for their creative work.
