COURSE CURRICULUM

The program combines a strong research foundation with optional modules that deepen professional understanding of leadership, inclusion, and practice-based improvement. The core module, Applied Research Project in Education, enables students to design and complete an independent, in-depth research project focused on a relevant educational issue, developing advanced skills in research design, ethical practice, data collection, analysis, and critical evaluation. This module supports evidence-based practice and contributes to professional and academic development. Optional modules allow students to tailor their learning to specific interests and career pathways. Coaching and Mentoring in Education explores effective mentoring relationships, professional learning, and reflective practice, equipping students with skills to support colleagues and learners in diverse educational settings. The Culture and Diversity module focuses on understanding cultural, linguistic, and identity diversity, emphasising equality, inclusion, and social justice in both formal and informal learning environments. The Practice-Based Enquiry module encourages systematic investigation of real-world educational challenges within professional contexts, supporting informed change and innovation. Collectively, these modules strengthen research capability, inclusive practice, and professional leadership, preparing students to contribute critically and confidently to educational development across a range of settings.
