COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLM program offers core modules that are designed to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for a career in international law. The International Law: Problems and Process (Mental Wealth) module introduces students to the key debates in public and private international law. It helps build research skills and a deeper understanding of international legal frameworks. This module is foundational to the LLM program, offering a comprehensive survey of topical legal issues, while also incorporating skills workshops that address employability and personal development, including core competencies aligned with the Mental Wealth initiative.The International Human Rights module delves into the international protection of human rights, examining both conceptual and normative frameworks, as well as the enforcement mechanisms for these rights. Students will explore the strategies for realizing human rights through formal and informal channels, considering the roles played by various actors. The module critiques both universal and regional human rights systems and evaluates domestic approaches to human rights protection. It emphasizes the practical application of human rights provisions, focusing on good practices and the tools necessary for achieving human rights objectives.The Applied Project module enables students to undertake independent research on a topic of their choosing within international law. This dissertation provides an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills gained throughout the program, allowing students to pursue academic inquiry beyond the structured curriculum. It encourages original research, critical thinking, and the development of expertise in a specific area of international law, offering students the chance to contribute meaningfully to the field. Through these core modules, the program equips students with the necessary academic and professional tools for a successful career in international law.
