The LLB (Hons) Law degree with foundation year offers a comprehensive and progressive route into the legal profession, particularly suited for students who may not initially meet the standard entry requirements. In the foundation year, students are introduced to essential academic and legal skills through modules such as Introduction to Key Legal Concepts, Legal Communications, and Legal Research Methods. The curriculum also includes Legal Skills and English Legal System, where students sharpen their ability to interpret and analyse legal materials and understand how the legal system operates in practice. Mental Wealth modules run throughout the program, promoting professional development, self-reflection, and workplace readiness.The second year deepens legal understanding through modules such as Criminal Law, Tort Law, EU Law, and Equity and Trusts. These provide essential legal knowledge and practice-related skills. The Human Rights Proceedings module expands on public law by exploring the legal framework surrounding human rights in the UK. Students develop practical competencies and critical reasoning, preparing for the demands of professional legal work or further study.In the final year, students can specialise in areas aligned with their interests and career ambitions. Options include commercial law, family law, and litigation-focused modules, with the opportunity to earn an additional Higher Diploma in Paralegal Practice. Ethical practice is embedded through the Professional Standards and Ethics module, and students are encouraged to gain real-world experience through placements or work in the Legal Advice Centre, reinforcing academic learning with practical legal engagement.
