COURSE CURRICULUM

The Data Science and AI program is designed to provide students with the essential skills and knowledge in computing, mathematics, and problem-solving, starting from the foundation year through to advanced topics. In the foundation year, students focus on key areas such as computing principles, applied mathematics, and group project development. The Key Skills module enhances critical reading, writing, and problem-solving abilities, while the Mental Wealth: Professional Life module teaches effective teamwork and project development. Other modules like Applied Maths and Introduction to Computing lay the groundwork for more advanced studies in computer science and AI.In the first year, students deepen their understanding of programming, software development, web technologies, and computer systems. Core modules such as Software Development and Web Technologies teach technical skills, while Information Systems Modelling and Design addresses the legal, ethical, and professional aspects of information systems. The Mental Wealth: Professional Life 1 module helps students develop key professional competencies necessary for successful careers.Year 2 focuses on advanced topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Structures & Algorithms, and Programming for Data Science. Students develop practical skills in database management, business intelligence analysis, and complex problem-solving. This year also includes a module on Artificial Intelligence, where students explore machine learning and biologically inspired AI systems.In the final year, students tackle specialized topics including Big Data Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, and Cloud Computing. The curriculum dives deeper into advanced deep learning techniques and big data analysis, preparing students for high-level roles in AI and data science. The program culminates in an individual academic project where students apply their learning to real-world scenarios, equipping them with the skills necessary for success in the rapidly evolving tech industry.
