COURSE CURRICULUM

The civil engineering degree begins with a foundation year designed to develop core competencies in mathematics, computing, and physical sciences. This stage lays the groundwork for higher-level study, enabling students to understand essential scientific concepts, solve basic engineering problems, and build communication and interpersonal skills for academic and professional success. Modules in mathematical applications, analytical mathematics, and engineering sciences provide a clear pathway to more technical subjects. Students also explore computing and physical sciences, which help them understand the connections between various disciplines relevant to civil engineering.The first year of the main degree builds upon this foundation, introducing students to engineering mechanics, surveying, construction materials, and CAD. They begin to engage with real-world applications of civil engineering through practical exercises and collaborative learning. Analytical and numerical skills are further enhanced, and students gain an understanding of how the built environment is designed and managed. Optional modules allow them to tailor their studies to specific interests, and a final Mental Wealth module ensures readiness for professional challenges.
