COURSE CURRICULUM

The Accounting and Finance with FinTech degree is designed to give you a strong foundation in financial principles, while also introducing the strategic role of technology in the evolving finance industry. The course begins with a foundation year that helps you build essential academic and business skills. Through core modules such as Developing Academic Skills for Business and Inside Business, you'll become familiar with key business functions and the environment in which enterprises operate. You'll also gain valuable work experience through volunteering, while the Mental Wealth module introduces you to the qualities needed for a rapidly changing job market.In your first year, you'll study the fundamentals of accounting, economics, law and organisational behaviour. Modules like Business Law and Fundamentals of Business Accounting are designed to ground you in the core financial and legal principles that underpin professional practice. These are complemented by the Mental Wealth and People and Organisations modules, which help you build interpersonal and digital skills.The second year focuses on employability and technical knowledge, offering optional modules such as Taxation, Auditing, and participation in an Accounting and Tax Clinic for practical experience. You'll also study intermediate financial reporting, performance management accounting, and financial management. These modules prepare you to analyse data, make financial decisions, and report results effectively.In your final year, you will deepen your knowledge with advanced topics such as Corporate Finance, Strategic Management Accounting, and Advanced Financial Reporting. A dedicated FinTech module explores emerging technologies, global trends, and new business models in the finance sector. You’ll also learn to use business analytics tools, helping you develop insight into data-driven decision-making. By the end of the course, you'll be prepared for roles in both traditional finance and FinTech, equipped with the practical skills and strategic understanding needed to thrive in modern business.
