COURSE CURRICULUM

The psychology degree program provides a structured and comprehensive education in the scientific study of human behaviour, beginning with six foundational modules in the first year. These include Mental Wealth, which enhances critical thinking and communication, and core areas like cognitive, biological, developmental, and social psychology. Students also gain essential research skills through small and large sample study design modules, preparing them for advanced research. In the second year, students explore theories of individual differences and undertake advanced psychological research methods, further examining cognitive, developmental, social, and biological psychology in real-world applications. A work-based learning module bridges theory with practical experience, offering insight into future careers. Optional modules such as forensic, clinical, cognitive neuroscience, and environmental psychology help students explore specialist interests. In the final year, the program focuses on independent research, where students design and conduct their own empirical study. This project deepens their methodological and analytical capabilities, while a variety of optional modules allow for subject-specific specialisation, including addiction, health psychology, and criminal behaviour. Throughout all levels, the curriculum is designed to build professional and academic competencies, preparing students for postgraduate education or direct employment in psychology-related fields.
