COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Economics BSc (Hons) program provides students with a robust foundation in economics, finance, and business management, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary for a wide range of professional roles. In Year 1, students are introduced to key concepts in business law, accounting, economics, marketing, and organisational behaviour. Core modules also develop essential skills in business statistics and data analysis, laying the groundwork for advanced studies. In Year 2, the focus shifts to deepening economic understanding through intermediate microeconomics and macroeconomics, alongside practical business modules such as financial management, taxation, project management, and digital marketing. Students also gain a critical understanding of sustainable operations and supply chain management, with mental wealth modules enhancing employability and professional development. In the final year, the program explores advanced topics including behavioural economics, strategic management, financial reporting, and the influence of finance technology (FinTech). Students apply theoretical knowledge through practical modules such as business consultancy, data analytics, and business intelligence, while also addressing real-world issues in global enterprise and corporate social responsibility. A capstone Applied Economics Project allows students to carry out independent research and demonstrate their ability to critically analyse complex problems using economic tools and methodologies. Optional modules in international political economy and ethics offer insights into the broader global and societal implications of business decisions. Throughout the degree, students develop a blend of analytical, numerical, and strategic thinking skills, supported by opportunities to build professional competencies such as teamwork, communication, and leadership.
