COURSE CURRICULUM

The Aeronautical Engineering BEng program, including a foundation year, is designed to equip students with a deep understanding of engineering principles and prepare them for careers in the aerospace industry. The foundation year builds essential skills in mathematics, physical sciences, and computing, setting a solid groundwork for future study. Modules such as Analytical Mathematics, Engineering Sciences, and Introduction to Computing help students gain confidence in problem-solving and computational thinking, while the Mental Wealth module develops awareness of engineering’s societal and environmental implications.In Year 1, the focus shifts to core engineering knowledge. Students explore key subjects like Engineering Materials and Design, Thermofluids, and Mechanics, developing a solid understanding of fluid dynamics, material properties, and structural analysis. The Mental Wealth: Engineering Profession module introduces professional development by examining engineering’s impact on society and encouraging responsible innovation.The second year deepens technical expertise through modules like Applied Mechanics, Dynamics and Control, and Applied Electronics. Here, students apply mathematical modelling and simulations to more complex systems, enhancing their ability to design and analyse electromechanical components. The Applied Aeronautical Engineering module introduces flight dynamics, control systems, and aircraft engine fundamentals. Mental Wealth modules continue to build soft skills such as teamwork, project planning, and communication—skills vital to career progression.In the final year, students refine their abilities with advanced modules like Systems Integration and Sustainable Aviation Technologies. These cover cutting-edge topics including drones, CFD, green aviation, and integrated systems. The Capstone Project allows students to showcase their independent research, bringing together theory, experimentation, and problem-solving. By graduation, students are not only technically competent but also prepared to face modern engineering challenges with an ethical and sustainable mindset.
