The BA (Hons) Fashion Cultures and Business degree provides students with a well-rounded education in fashion marketing, culture, and business. In the first year, students focus on building foundational skills, including technical and theoretical knowledge in fashion marketing, cultural perspectives, and ethical practices. Core modules such as Technical Skills & Innovation and Fashion Contexts and Research help students develop practical skills using industry tools like Adobe Creative Suite while exploring global fashion narratives and cultural diversity. Students also examine how fashion reflects and influences social, political, and cultural issues, particularly within multicultural settings like London.In the second year, the program deepens students' understanding of advanced topics such as globalisation, psychopolitics, and sustainability. Modules like Storytelling and Visual Communication and Fashion Business: Globalisation, Psychopolitics, and Contemporary Issues allow students to enhance their creative and technical abilities while applying their learning to real-world problems. Fashion Enterprise 2 prepares students for professional careers by helping them build their portfolios, develop branding strategies, and gain hands-on experience through live briefs and placements.In the final year, students focus on refining their research, strategic thinking, and industry knowledge. Modules like Applied Identities in Fashion Culture and Business and Fashion Culture and Practice challenge students to explore the emotional and cultural aspects of fashion. The Final Major Project allows students to demonstrate their creativity and entrepreneurial abilities, showcasing their work through a professional portfolio. The program also provides opportunities for industry engagement, such as collaborating with clients and showcasing work at trade fairs. By the end of the degree, students are well-prepared for careers in fashion marketing, culture, and business, with a strong skill set, knowledge base, and industry connections to support their future success.
