COURSE CURRICULUM

In Term One, the course begins with Launch week, a cross-school event designed to bring together postgraduate students from various disciplines within the School of Fashion and Textiles to create a dynamic, international community. The Digital Practice unit allows you to develop a self-negotiated project proposal, where you will analyze and reflect on your research ideas and existing skills to explore digital fashion concepts. You will examine contemporary industry practices, trend forecasting, and global consumer interactions with digital fashion. This unit runs in parallel with Critical Thinking for Creative Practice, which contextualizes your work within professional, cultural, social, and economic frameworks, enhancing your research, reading, and documentation skills. In Term Two, Opportunity Week provides an opportunity to present your work in progress and project proposals to the broader postgraduate community, encouraging feedback and collaboration. Project Development builds on your previous knowledge, helping you refine your digital fashion concept and create work suited to your target market. The Collaborative Professional Practice unit introduces industry connections and professional development, where you will complete a two-stage collaborative project. In Term Three, Project Realisation marks the culmination of your studies. You will create a final body of work, showcasing your skills and understanding, and present it in an industry-ready portfolio through your Project Proposal, Research Journal, and Project Reflection Document. This unit applies the knowledge and skills you’ve developed throughout the course, preparing you for your future career in digital fashion.
