COURSE CURRICULUM

In Year One, you will begin with the Launch Week, designed to prepare you for university learning through workshops aimed at refreshing your existing skills. Key units include Programming & Interactivity, where you'll learn core programming concepts and apply them to build interactive applications. You'll also explore Data and Databases, focusing on relational databases, and Programming & GUI Applications, where you'll use Java to develop graphical user interface applications. The unit on Equality, Diversity & Inclusion will help you develop a progressive understanding of these themes within creative practice. Web Design & Development will introduce browser-based design using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. You'll also participate in ATOM activities, which encourage interdisciplinary learning and broaden your creative exposure. The PLE Digital Outcome encourages you to engage with digital platforms by creating a portfolio or blog to showcase your work.Year Two will deepen your programming knowledge with Object-Oriented Programming & Cybersecurity, which builds on Java and introduces object-oriented programming concepts and basic cybersecurity. You'll explore creative practice through The Conscious Practitioner unit, which focuses on diversity and inclusion in a global context. In the Introduction to Artificial Intelligence unit, you'll learn the fundamentals of AI using Python. Application Development: Industry Brief will have you develop an application for an industry partner, applying the skills you've learned in a real-world setting. Elective units offer choices such as Digital Storytelling and Immersive Media. Throughout the year, you’ll continue to engage in ATOM activities and document your progress in the PLE Digital Outcome.In Year Three, you will further specialize in Artificial Intelligence for Creativity, using machine learning frameworks for creative applications. Mobile Application Development will introduce you to key concepts for building mobile applications. Your final year will culminate in the Final Major Project, where you will create a detailed proposal for a project that showcases your skills. This project will be celebrated in a final exhibition, where you'll also showcase your work through a showreel.
