The course begins with an introductory Launch week, designed to prepare you for university learning through workshops that refresh and build essential skills. In The Real, you’ll explore social, political, and economic themes that shape human experience, while Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity encourages reflection on how your social identity influences your creative practice. The Professional Experience unit equips you with the technical and creative skills needed to stand out in the professional world, while Opportunity week provides personalized feedback to help refine your skills. The Body unit delves into genres and styles centered around the human form, fostering research and creative exploration. The Client Brief unit allows you to apply design skills to a real-world project, developing collaborative, presentation, and pitching skills. The Speculative Art unit introduces you to futuristic and fantastical art forms like cyberpunk, Afrofuturism, and magical realism. ATOM Activities broaden your creative horizons with interdisciplinary learning, and the PLE Digital Outcomes unit helps build your digital portfolio and online presence. In the second year, Launch week prepares you for Spatial Practices, where you’ll explore the relationship between space, power, and digital cultures. The Conscious Practitioner encourages reflection on inclusion and diversity in creative work, while Expanded Practices pushes you to experiment with digital art across multiple media. The Industry Brief allows you to work on real-world client projects. Elective options such as Digital Storytelling and Immersive Media further specialize your skills. In the third year, Launch week sets you up for your Final Major Project, which you’ll develop with guidance. The Critical Contexts unit helps contextualize your research, and during Opportunity Week, you’ll refine your final project before completing it in the Final Major Project: Realisation unit, culminating your creative journey with a professional exit plan.
