COURSE CURRICULUM

The Strength, Conditioning and Sports Nutrition degree provides a comprehensive foundation in both the science and practice of athletic performance. In the first year, students develop essential knowledge in anatomy, exercise physiology, nutrition, and practical strength and conditioning principles, alongside academic development skills to support higher-level study. The second year builds on this foundation with modules in field-based conditioning, injury prevention and rehabilitation, sports biomechanics, sport and exercise nutrition, psychological principles of strength and conditioning, and research skills, equipping students with the expertise to design and deliver evidence-based training programs. In the final year, students focus on applied strength and conditioning, nutrition for performance, and undertake a sport and nutrition project, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience. The program also includes a work-based learning module, providing opportunities to gain hands-on experience in real-world settings, preparing students for professional roles in coaching, athletic development, or sports performance support. Accredited by leading industry bodies, the course ensures students acquire industry-relevant skills and qualifications, such as practical coaching certifications and performance nutrition competencies.
