COURSE CURRICULUM

The Physiotherapy degree provides a comprehensive pathway for developing the knowledge, skills, and professional competence required for a career in physiotherapy. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules such as Human Anatomy and Physiology, Introduction to Physiotherapy Practice, Principles of Assessment in Physiotherapy, and Practice-based Learning 1, gaining essential understanding of the human body and core physiotherapy techniques. In the second year, the curriculum expands to more specialised areas, including Neurological Studies, Cardiovascular and Respiratory Studies, Musculoskeletal Studies, and Research for Physiotherapists, alongside Practice-based Learning 2, allowing students to deepen their clinical knowledge while applying it in practical settings. The third year focuses on advancing professional practice, with modules such as Advancing Practice in Physiotherapy, Research for Allied Health Professionals, and Practice-based Learning 3, which develop higher-level skills in assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based practice, preparing students for complex clinical scenarios. Throughout the degree, the combination of theoretical learning, research-informed study, and hands-on practice ensures graduates are ready to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care. On completion, students are eligible to register with the Health and Care Professions Council, positioning them for a wide range of career opportunities in physiotherapy across healthcare, education, and community settings.
