COURSE CURRICULUM

The Automated Manufacturing Engineering BEng (Hons) program is structured over three years, offering a progressive combination of foundational engineering knowledge, practical skills, and advanced manufacturing technologies. In the first year, students build core competencies through modules such as Engineering Maths, Mechanical Principles, CAD Design, Software Applications, Pneumatics and Hydraulics, and Materials Science and Engineering. These courses establish the fundamental principles of engineering, preparing students for more specialized study. The second year introduces intermediate and applied topics, including Systems and Control Principles, Thermofluid Mechanics, Renewable Energy and Sustainability, Smart Manufacturing, Virtual Engineering and Simulation, and Mechatronic Systems. This stage develops technical skills, analytical thinking, and awareness of sustainable and automated production methods. In the final year, students focus on advanced manufacturing and industry-relevant practices through modules such as Internet of Things Operation and Control, Industry 4.0 Manufacturing, Project Management, Independent Project, and Advanced Manufacturing Systems. These modules integrate theoretical knowledge with practical applications, enabling students to manage complex systems, implement smart manufacturing solutions, and lead projects. Across all three years, the program emphasizes problem-solving, innovation, and technical competence, equipping graduates with the skills and expertise required for careers in aerospace, automotive, electronics, energy, and advanced manufacturing sectors, as well as providing a strong foundation for further study or professional development.
