COURSE CURRICULUM

The User Experience Design MSc is structured to provide a balance of core learning and opportunities for specialisation, enabling students to develop expertise in areas that align with their interests and career goals. Students complete five core modules, including Interaction Design and Evaluation Process, Research Methods, Design Thinking, Interface and Information Design, and a Major Project, which collectively equip them with a strong foundation in user-centred design, research methodologies, and practical design skills. In addition to the core curriculum, students choose two option modules, allowing them to tailor their learning to specific areas such as web development, independent projects, product and project management, or an independent research project. Full-time students starting in September may also opt for a placement or research year, providing valuable real-world experience and enhancing employability. The course emphasizes applied learning through project-based work, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and technical proficiency. By combining theory, research, and practical application, students develop the ability to design, evaluate, and implement effective user experiences across a range of digital platforms and technologies. Graduates leave the program prepared for careers in UX design, digital product development, interface design, and other technology-driven industries, with the skills and experience needed to respond to evolving user needs and industry trends.
