COURSE CURRICULUM

The Diagnostic Radiography MSc program combines core academic modules with practical learning to equip students with the knowledge and skills required for professional practice. Key modules include Anatomy, Physiology and Pathophysiology, which provide a foundation in human biology and disease processes, and Introduction to Diagnostic Radiography and Radiation Physics, which covers the technical principles of imaging. Professional Practice in Diagnostic Radiography and Science and Technology in Diagnostic Radiography focus on the application of clinical techniques and the use of advanced imaging technology. Students undertake two practice-based modules, MSc Practice Learning Diagnostic Radiography 1 and 2, which provide extensive hands-on experience in clinical environments, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world patient care. Additional modules such as Image Interpretation and Enhanced Professional Practice in Diagnostic Radiography develop students’ diagnostic skills and professional competence, while Research Design and Ethics and the Dissertation support the development of research capabilities and critical analysis. The program integrates academic learning, practical experience, and professional development, ensuring students gain a comprehensive understanding of diagnostic radiography, patient care, and clinical practice. By combining rigorous study with applied learning, the MSc prepares graduates for registration as diagnostic radiographers, ready to contribute effectively to healthcare teams and deliver high-quality imaging services.
